What is a sidecar motorcycle?

A sidecar motorcycle is… wait for it… a motorcycle with a sidecar attached to it :) The three wheeled rig enables more carrying capacity than a traditional two wheeled motorcycle, and makes friends out of strangers at every stop!

Is it safe?

Having three wheels, the rig behaves more like a car than a motorcycle, not leaning in corners like a traditional motorcycle does. Our rig is state-of- the-art with industry leading features. Our rig can carry 3 passengers; two passengers can occupy the sidecar, and a third can be seated comfortably behind the rider/guide. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!

Is it scary?

No it’s not scary, but it is exhilarating and exciting! Our tours average at a comfortable pace of 25 miles per hour – slow enough to really enjoy the sights, and just fast enough to get the wind in your hair and experience the joy of motorcycling. Our guides are experienced motorcyclists who have your safety as their top priority.

Can I bring my dog?

Your furry friend is always welcome on any of our tours – they are part of the family after all. Majority of the time, it is not a problem to bring your dog. However, we recommend reading our "Ride With Your Pet" page or contacting us before booking so we can help you plan it better.

What if it rains?

San Diego is notoriously arid and sunny, with perfect 70 degree (22C) weather year round. However, in the rare chance of rain our sidecars have an optional, easily attachable convertible top with clear windows that can be installed to keep the passengers nice and dry!

What should I bring?

Your tour includes a helmet, glasses, bottled water, 12volt outlet with universal chargers, & lockable trunk space for storage. Please do bring sunscreen and sunglasses. HD video of your tour can be purchased for a nominal fee.

What languages are offered for the narrated tour?

We offer tours in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Serbo-Croatian.

How big is the sidecar?

Our sidecar comfortably seats 2 children, or cozily seats two adults, or any combination of these with a dog. The technical specs are 33 inches of hip room, 57 inches of leg room, with a load capacity of 500 pounds and trunk capacity of 10 cubic feet! Don’t forget the large pillion (passenger) seat behind the rider/guide!

Do you accommodate larger groups?

As we grow, at the moment we can accommodate a group of 6 which would be split between two rigs – 3 passengers in each. Please call to reserve well in advance to ensure availability.

Are there age restrictions?

California law does not have any age restrictions regarding motorcycle passengers. However, only passengers that are able to reach the foot pegs will be allowed to sit directly behind the guide. All passengers who are 17 years of age or younger must present a parent or legal guardian’s signed consent. Also, children bellow 8 years of age would not be able to participate in our tours.

What’s the deal with insurance?

Our guides are passionate, experienced motorcyclists who have your safety as their top priority. Our rig is meticulously maintained by Rix, a seasoned sidecar expert from SoCal Trike Center. Nonetheless, all riders are covered with our personal liability insurance coverage. Our routes exclussively follow quiet, leisurely side streets with little traffic, typically cruising at around 25 MPH. We have a perfect safety record & work tirelessly to keep it that way :)

Can I drive the rig?

Unfortunately, the joy of driving a sidecar must be selfishly delegated only to our seasoned and experienced guides. We prefer you sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

Are the tours flexible?

This is your private tour and so it is fairly flexible – we have carefully chosen the optimal route that avoids traffic & allows you to see the best points of interest, however should you wish to amend certain parts of the tour, please feel free to speak to your guide. You will also have the chance to walk at certain points along the tour if you wish, and the timing of breaks and photo stops can also be flexible, keeping in mind certain limitations such as the need to respect other reservations before & after your tour.
